Amazon Leads Brand Loyalty Study

Commercial giant Amazon's retail operation inspires the highest levels of brand loyalty among consumers, according to the latest survey from brand research consultancy Brand Keys.

Google traded places with Amazon year-on-year for the top spot, in a list dominated by technology and consumer electronics companies. Facebook dropped three spots year-on-year to eighth place.

 Other highlights include:

  • Trader Joe's was the top bricks-and-mortar retailer in 13th place. Whole Foods, recently acquired by Amazon, ranked 54th.

  • Dunkin Donuts (11th) beat out Starbucks (17th) to take the laurels in the coffee category. 

  • Hyundai (16th) topped the automotive category, followed by Ford (18th) and Toyota (26th).

  • Lyft joins the top 100 (95th) for the first time, with Uber dropping from 17th to 36th year-on-year.
